Ordering
How do I place an order?
Fresh Paper is an online invitation and stationery boutique. I also meet with local couples in Portland, Oregon by appointment. I have made the online ordering process as simple and straightforward as possible, but if you have any questions at all, please contact me.

Can I order over the phone?
Placing your order online helps prevent mistakes, misunderstandings, and misspellings.  If you are unable to place your order online or if you would like to ask questions over the phone, please contact me with your phone number and I will give you a call.


Do you do in-person consultations?
I meet with couples in the Portland-Metro area by appointment. Please contact me
to make an appointment!

What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept credit cards, debit cards, and e-checks safely and securely via PayPal.  You do not need a PayPal account to order! If you are having any trouble with the checkout process at all, please contact me and I am more than happy to help you!

Do you accept payment plans?
Yes. I understand how expensive weddings can be. Please contact me to arrange a payment plan if you need one. The order must be paid for in full before any printing begins, but the design process can start with a deposit.

How many invitations should I order?
As you look over your guest list, remember that couples and families only need one invitation to share. After you get your final invitation count, it's always wise to order a few extra in case you make new friends or forgot someone on the list. (It's also nice to have one for your scrapbook!)
      What if I need more invitations later?
No problem! I can accommodate small runs, and reprint orders are not subject to the 25 invitation minimum order.  Please contact me to arrange a reprint order!
      What if I need to cancel my order?
For invitations, personal stationery, and any item that requires personalization, there is a cancellation fee if you cancel your order after your digital proofs have been emailed. Once you have approved your proofs and your order has gone into production, there are no cancellations and no refunds.

Are envelopes included in the price?
Yes, envelopes are included in the base pricing of all invitations and save the dates. I include 5% extra envelopes for addressing errors on all Invitation and Save the Date orders. If you need to purchase additional envelopes, please let me know.

I am ordering a large quantity. Can I get a discount?
Since the nature of this business is for event-sized orders, the pricing is already set for large quantities. In order to keep my prices affordable year-round, I do not offer promotional discounts, but occasionally will celebrate milestones with special offers for my facebook fans and newsletter subscribers.

When should I order my wedding invitations?
Traditionally, invitations are sent out 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding. I recommend ordering invitations at least 3-6 months before your wedding date so that you have plenty of time. Of course, rush options are also available if you're in a time crunch!

When should I order my save the dates?
Save the dates are typically sent out 6-12 months before the wedding.

When should I order my day-of wedding items?
In order to allow all items to be personalized, printed, and shipped to you in plenty of time for the wedding, I recommend ordering day-of-wedding items at least one to two months before your wedding.

Processing/Shipping
How long will it take to receive my items?

I do my best to get your order out as quickly as possible. All of my products are carefully printed and cut by hand, not mass-produced, so they take time to complete. Each design takes 3 business days to personalize and typically 1-2 days for revisions. Printing, cutting, and packaging turnaround times start after proofs are approved. Please see my current turnaround times below:

Invitations and Save the Dates:

It takes 3 weeks to make your invitations after you approve your proofs. I ship invitations via USPS Priority Mail, so once they leave the studio, they take 2-3 business days to arrive within the U.S. and 6-10 business days internationally. Rush options are available and start at $50.


Note cards and other small orders:

It takes 1-2 weeks to make your note cards (depending on the size of the order). I ship note cards via USPS First Class Mail. USPS estimates 2-5 business days for First Class packages to arrive within the US, but they can take longer, especially during holidays. Rush options are available and start at $15.

 

Escort Cards:

Escort cards take 3 weeks to make after you approve your proofs and send your seating assignments. I ship escort cards via USPS Priority Mail, so once they leave the studio, they take 2-3 business days to arrive within the U.S. and 6-10 business days internationally. Rush options are available and start at $50.


Samples:
Samples are mailed within 3-5 days and are shipped via USPS First Class Mail. USPS estimates 2-5 business days for First Class packages to arrive within the US, and they can take longer during holidays. (international shipping times vary). Rush options are available and start at $10. (Rush sample orders are shipped the next business day.) Personalized samples take up to 7 business days to produce.

Can you rush my order?
Yes!!! When you check out you will see rush options listed as shipping options. Please check the specific item you are interested in for the exact rush processing times for that item. Rush options start at $10-$15 for samples and note cards and start at $50 for invitations and escort cards. Rush prices include the cost of shipping.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes!!! Everyone deserves beautiful invitations--no matter what country they live in! Please note that international shipping takes longer than U.S. shipping. Rush options and Express Mail are available at checkout. Tracking is now available for some countries. Please inquire about purchasing insurance, as I can not be held responsible for packages lost by the postal service or customs department.

Duties, taxes, and other customs charges are the sole responsibility of the customer and completely out of my control. It is against the law for me to mark "gift" on customs forms, claim the value is lower than it is, or falsify a customs form in any way, so please do not ask me to do so.

Proofing
How does the proofing process work?
Within 3 business days of your order, I will email your personalized proof to the email address you provided at checkout. You can request any changes you’d like and I’ll email revisions within 2 days. I can not print without your approval, so please make sure to provide a valid email address and check your email.

Do you provide an automated preview of my design as I am placing my order?
Your invitations deserve the personal attention of a real designer. Therefore, automated proofs are not available and your customized proof will be emailed to you 3 business days after your order is placed.

Why do the colors of my printed items look different than they did on my screen?
Colors display differently on different monitors. Since there's no way I can make sure what I see on my screen matches what you see on yours, I recommend purchasing a sample (which comes with a color chart) to see how colors look once printed. If you are in the proofing process of your order, you can request a printed version of your invitation at any time.

Do you proofread my order?
If I happen to catch a typo or spelling error, I will bring it to your attention. However, I will not catch everything (especially venue and name misspellings) so please look over your proof carefully and show it to several people before approving your proofs. Read your invitation out loud, read it forward, read it backward, and ask  your smartest friend to read it. Invitations will be printed exactly as proofed, and if you catch a mistake after they are printed, you will be responsible for paying to have them reprinted.

Can I make a last minute change after I approve my proofs?
By approving your proofs, you are confirming that you have reviewed your proofs very carefully, all spelling and details are correct, and you are giving me the consent to place your order into production. If you need to make a last-minute change, please contact me immediately! We will work out a solution depending on how much of your order has been printed.

Customization
Do you take custom orders?
Yes!!! Please contact me to discuss your ideas! I love custom orders and am always happy to work with you to create the invitations of your dreams. Custom design times can vary and orders are priced on a case by case basis. I am always very transparent about prices and turnaround times throughout the design process, so don't be afraid to ask!

Can you make invitations that match my bridesmaid dresses (or cake, flowers, etc.)
Yes!!! Custom colors are available at no extra charge! Just send me a picture that you'd like me to match or include the CMYK color code or Pantone number in the "notes" when you check out!

Can you make place cards, table cards, signs, thank you cards, programs, etc. that match my invitations?
Yes! I can make any pieces you need to coordinate with your invitations. If you don't see a matching item listed in my shop, just contact me!

Extras
Do you offer guest addressing services?
Yes! I offer address printing for guest and/or return addresses. Fonts are chosen to coordinate with your invitations and a proof is always sent for approval before printing. You can email your guest list for address printing to me. (download my spreadsheet for easy organizing!)

Do you offer coordinating maps?
Yes! I offer custom map designs to coordinate with your invitations! Due to the labor-intensive nature of custom map designs, there is a small design fee on top of the cost of printed items. Add a map to your order here!

Can I get a pocketfold envelope to hold everything?
Yes! I can add a pocketfold envelope to any design! Just contact me to discuss coordinating sizes and colors.

What is an envelope liner?
An envelope liner is a colored or patterned piece of paper that’s inserted and adhered to the inside of the envelope to dress it up! It’s a great way to add a surprising pop to your invites.


What is a backing layer?
A backing layer is a colored piece of card stock that’s adhered to the back of the invitation. It's the perfect way to add a fun pop of color or dress up your invites!


Samples
What is included in an invitation sample?
I highly recommend you order a sample package to see and feel the quality of my invitations and assist you in choosing colors and placing your order. Sample orders include an invitation and reply card with envelopes, my signature ink color guide and paper swatches as well as a coupon for $10 off of your invitation order.

Are samples printed with my wording?
Samples are printed with fictional information in colors I have on hand. You will receive my signature ink color guide and paper swatches with your sample order. For a $5 fee, I can personalize your sample to reflect your wedding colors. And for a fee of $25, I will use your wording and send you a hard copy proof. Personalized samples do take additional time, so please plan accordingly.
